New Olympus Cameras for 2011

Tech Support (and Marketing)
I suppose the most intriguing camera from olympus' recently released models is the XZ-1 ... claiming to "fill the gap" it has a f/1.8 (at the wide end) lens and a feature set you might find on a DSLR or mirror-less interchangeable lens camera (has anyone thought to shorten that to MIL... someone should...) ... i suppose the question really is "was it a gap that needed filling" ... anyway, it has piqued my interest

Olympus XZ-1 camera

Filling the gap
With brilliant image quality and an ultra bright 1:1.8 iZUIKO DIGITAL zoom lens, the Olympus XZ-1 fuses compact camera size and style with system camera features.

Dito ... Ah crap, your gonna have one before me arnt you ... I already have to deal with your having an m9, and now this... ...

It has a large sensor for a compact with fixed lens :) ( not as big as 4/3 of course ! )

slightly larger sensor than a Canon G12 or Nikon P7000

A nice chart here for anyone interested in sensor sizes.
