Nikon 85mm F2.8 PC?

has anyone owned or used this beastie?

whilst struggling to find the time to devote to learning about 5x4, I seem to have fallen hopelessly in love with the idea of buggering about with the perspective.

I see that Korean mob have announced a 24mm TS/PC lens, so using essentially the same chassis I assume it's not too difficult for them to come out with an 85 or 90 in due course.

plungercams and their ilk hold little or no appeal for me, though I can see the attraction in the lensbaby series.

any other solutions? I seem to recall Horseman once making a 'baby viewcamera' ostensibly for 35mm slrs. and there was a Contax PC bellows, along with the equally elderly Nikon PB-4. at one time the used camera stores of Tokyo were overflowing with surplus 4x5 parts, but now these seem far less common. which is a shame

If you mean this one (http://www.europe-nikon.com/en_GB/p...ingle-focal-length/85mm-f-2-8d-ed-pc-e-nikkor), then yes. However, my use has only been for relatively close technical imaging and I've never used it for architecture or similar. It is a nice lens but don't forget that the relationship between the two sets of movements is fixed. I plan to get the Schneider PC Angulon (https://www.schneideroptics.com/ecommerce/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?CID=1822&IID=8295) at some point as that has more range and independent movements.

There are also quite a few secondhand digital backs around these days at reasonable prices and you could put one of those on your technical camera using a sliding plate. And, as you say, there are a few systems that let you use a DSLR on a technical system, eg Linhof & Studio Ltd. - Silvestri Cameras - T30, Mod H, Mod H25, 7000 Bi cam, S4.

I have Petes 45mm on loan at the moment, its a remarkable thing in terms of sharpness!!

in fact, wouldn't it be great if some enterprising company produced just the base chassis, with some kind of universal mount for whatever lens you wanted to mount on it?

You can get adapters, but you couldn't just mount any lens and it work.
medium format lenses can be mounted to 35mm. It works because the image circle of a medium format lens is much bigger and the flange back distance is greater meaning there is space for an adapter without loosing infinity focus ...

I was thinking along the mf lines poking around used camera shops yesterday. An RB 65mm, an ETRS 50mm. I imagine the RB lens would be the better bet, though far heavier, because of the 'mechanical' aspect as opposed to the Bron offering?

Wonderbar! Tilt only for $124. I don't see many of those Praktisix lenses around these parts though.

Or $423 for T/S and the wonderful blad lenses. So a C or CF lens with a broken shutter, would work? the aperture blades are a separate unit on Victor's glass?

with a reasonably good lens (I assume) $429. I'm first of all extremely grateful to you for pointing this site out, and secondly, my pulse is quickening, breathing shallow, beads of sweat dripping

...I may be about to consider getting my wallet out
