Crovie, Aberdeenshire.
A small village comprising a single row of houses a few miles along the coast from its cousin, Pennan, the latter being where they filmed the movie, Local Hero.
Crovie is situated on such a narrow ledge that any cars have to be left outside the village.
The village was established by families of crofters who had been moved off the land to make room for the owners sheep. This was done instead of being sent off to the Americas...hard times....
Most of the houses are now holiday homes...
