Octavious

Local hero, David Octavius Hill, in my local cemetery...until we moved out of Edinburgh. Every time I got a new camera I would take his image. This was with the Canon AE1P.

So, what makes those lines across the frame?

Ah,...one of the great men of early photography! A worthy subject for any camera!

As to the lines,...are they on the negative? If so I'd suspect something on the pressure plate; if not I'd think it might be a scanner issue.

I’ve no idea where the negative might be. I think I gave that camera to Rhona, so it will be in London. Anyway, I’m just trawling through my old stuff, seeing what pops up.

I got some scratches on on of my rolls of HP5+ when I wasn't careful sliding it through the negative holder on my scanning arrangement and a speck of dust or grit got stuck in it... It looked a bit like that. It's curious how this line isn't straight though. Nice photo though!
