Old Images of Kid Workers

Cracking Photos Rob great find.
Heres the translation of the first few paragraphs.
Lewis Hine is probably the most important American photographer of the industrial age . Pioneer in "social" photography his photographs of workers on the Empire State Building have in particular been around the world. But Lewis Hine is also renowned for giving a face to the thousands of children working at a young age before abolition.

Sadly , the artist will end his life in misery , art already doing no more recipe. But Lewis Hine leaves a powerful testimony and a lesson on acquired rights struggles force. Eyes full of fear but also hope for a peaceful future , these small artisans 'dream' US now have a place in history .

"If I could tell a story with words , I do not baladerais me with a camera . " Hine wrote . No doubt, the story was heard ..

Terrific find and amazing images. Sadly, in most of them, the children do not appear distressed or any more unhappy than the adults. That does not make it right of course. The sad thing is that this, and probably far worse, continues to this day. Shame on us.
People get used to conditions they believe can't be changed. It allows humans, and animals for that matter, to endure things that seem unendurable to others. Ever see a sad three-legged dog?

Powerful, powerful images. It shows the latent power in photography that is only brought out to its fullest by the greats. The other thing these photos do for me, personally, is to reinforce my liberalism.
