Olympus mju ii

I have been after one of these for years, they frequently sell on ebay for up to £50 ... which considering they weren't that much more than that in their day and there are 3,800,000 of the things circulating is pretty good.
i have bought mine from one of our members (Tony Moon) as he had 2.

It has a reported very good 35mm 2.8 fixed lens, a few flash modes, a self timer and spot metering. the reason i wanted one (apart from the lens) is its dx coding recognition up to 3200.
i have put a 800iso fuji film in it and shall be taking some evening shots with it later today!

im very happy to have eventually got one (cheers Tony) and hope it lives up to its expectations....

can anyone think of any other camera that has a fixed fast lens with dx code recognition (or manually settable) up to 3200iso?
the only one i can think of off the top of my head is some of the really rear minox 35 range...
il happily be told otherwise!

very simple bit of kit

Hi Hamish,

How about the Ricoh GR1s? Lovely little cameras. http://www.camerapedia.org/wiki/Ricoh_GR1s I bought mine years ago after reading an article in BJP and seeing pictures taken with one from a solo walk to the South Pole. I think this must have been the guy http://www.gdargaud.net/Photo/Archive.html

I must admit I haven't used it for some time but I do use the digital 'version', the GR III. Shame they left the viewfinder off though. I have the accessory finder but it's not the same.

Perhaps I should have said

can anyone think of any other camera that has a fixed fast lens with dx code recognition (or manually settable) up to 3200iso for an accesable amount of money
