Oma Stoel, ca. 1900

Got an old photo about DIN A4 size, of the great-grandmother of my wife. Her family name was Stoel. The photo was taken around 1900, and it is showing her in the traditional clothes of a rather wealthy farmers family in the northern part of Overijssel, The Netherlands, near Kampen.

Scanned it with my Epson V700, and retouched some scratches in LR. Not taken by me, imagine, but probably nice to show....:)

Excellent portrait. Traditional dress is always interesting - something else which has suffered from the wrong kind of globalisation.
Yeah, probably. Although it might take you precious time to get dressed like this.... I think it is a Sunday Outfit...

Okay, some info from a nephew. Her maiden name was Annigje Selles, born 1874 in Genemuiden, died 1936 in Kampen. She married Jan Stoel in 1899, and they had one child, Annigje or Mijgje Stoel, who married Hendrik Nies. He is the father of my father in law....

We're not sure when this photo was taken, or for which occasion. Probably her marriage? Or short after? So, my guess it was taken around 1900 is more or less okay....
