A couple of weeks ago I picked up that English National Opera (ENO) were having a sale of redundant props and costumes. News to me was that their storage facility was only a short distance away. One of those places that are hiding in plain sight almost on your doorstep. Too good an opportunity to miss if only to see behind the scenes rather than add to our already cluttered home we went along.
Not sure what lighting conditions to expect I took my Fuji X100s. Here, for fun, are a few of the (snap)shots I took. Not great photography but somehow they've captured the spirit of the thing for me.

Brilliant. The opera storage place in Berlin used to have something similar, although it was open all year round.

Please tell me you bought that tape deck and mannequin!

The tape deck was at the top of my "if only" list. And if we had a cellar I can't help feeling that it would be just the place for the mannequin!

I was wondering about the tape deck too! Anyone know if its a complete unit or just a prop? The panel of knobs on its left looks suspiciously like a prop ... Not sure though. Great pics thanks for sharing

Impressive though it is, sadly that tape deck was just a prop. Probably some genuine parts in it though.
