One of my Camera's my 'New' Argus C4

I just thought I'd put a quick post of my latest camera. Its an Argus C Four rangefinder camera. I saw it listed on Rocky Camera's and it was the only one and haven't seen one on ebay.co.uk either. I really like the look of this camera and paid more than my usual £5-£10 it cost me £29.99 hopefully money well spent.

In reasonable condition shutter fires well. I've given the rangefinder and viewfinder a clean up as well as the lens.

I've got a roll in now to test it and see if the lens and rf are married up right, if not it'll be some tinkering to sort it out. Its had a knock to the lens at some point and may of being in pieces some time in the past 58years as the aperture stops seem to sit underneath the lens and makes it a bit awkward changing them. Also to note its easily to accidently change the aperture when trying to focus. See how I get on

That looks pretty cool :) I like how the focusing ring is geared onto the lens much like my Sputnik, looks like you got quite a bit of camera for not much money!

From what I gather they're not all that valuable but I just liked the look of it. Looking forward to dev the test roll. Hopefully use it Monday/Tuesday as I'm planning my first go at street shooting for the jubilee celebrations.

My Voigtlander bessa isn't worth much but its an amazing bit of design and I too am planning on shooting a bit during the junaliee celebrations (probably massivly under or overexposed but hey im still learning lol)

It's all a learning curve. I'm debating wether to use my iPhone light meter app which I have to say I thinks great or go old school and spend the day sunny 16

Now that's a sweet looking piece of retro Nick! :)

It's easy as pie once the theory clicks! In day light at least ... Or indoor stuff I wouldn't be without a meter, I'm not even sure it is possible to judge artificial light ...
