Oof Plants

Finally someone posting new photos! I was starting to get bored. I love these two, particularly the first, in which the plant in question seems to express an inner impulse: doing its job. It is looking towards the sky, expanding, enjoying its own existence. The second one, on the other hand, is very introverted and may be wondering how she ended up in a container that she feels is not close to her nature.
Evocative photos.

[Just a side question, Rob: split-tone, this time by choice?]

Yes, by choice. Done in the digital darkroom. It helped give a bit of glamour, in its original magical meaning.

The first has a bit of ICM beyond the focus being deliberately off, which brings out its character more. The second is, as you point out, of a different character, and has a desire to be elsewhere. We wouldn’t have our interpretations if they had been boring straight shots. I find that interesting. My intention is not to show what is there, but to tell a story. But sometimes the reader has to work harder, but you got there quickly. An author is only as good as his reader?
