Been very busy this last two weeks, with hardly any time for photography. Just snapped this one while waiting for Rhona to get her ball gown on - it's 6th-year Ball evening, a BIG event in their social calendar. Yes, I took some shots of her and her friend before they went out, but I'm under strict orders not to share...

So you will have to put up with this orchid... I do plan to make a study of it with the RB67 and 140mm lens, but I need peace of mind and time for that...

That is very nicely done Rob. Just enough texture left in the white fleshy petals and I like the fact that the rest falls into darkness. Adds to the feel.

Thanks, Pete. You've hit the nail on the head there with there just being enough texture - I was seeing how far I could take it. Took a few attempts with various controls, and I'm quite pleased with the result.
