On my short hike down to Young's River Falls, I passed a group of trees with washed out roots. I didn't really get the exposure or color that I wanted but we can do most anything in post

I really like the choice of subject and the framing, but if I'm honest I don't know what colour processing in post is optimal. Perhaps those burnt highlights leave little room for effective processing. Have you tried monochrome?

I still like the first one. I don't much care for the straight colored one. The last one works but the first is sort of like the last one but with some green.
