Interesting Tom. Who ever put the wedge in did it for a reason. Maybe years to come when the organ is found abandoned , with the wedge missing, someone tries to play it, it does not work and is presumed broken forever , not knowing that a simple paper wedge can fix it, getting it up and working once again to play fine tunes. It may well be found by a photographer who likes abandoned buildings.

Thanks everybody. My thoughts on the wedge was that it might be there to suppress some irritating vibration.
