Critique Welcomed Parrot

One of my favorite lenses! It is amazing, as you can see in this shot too! The bokeh can be amazing silky!

I'd have one of these lenses if I had a camera that it would fit. Guess I'll have to be satisfied with seeing what you can do with it. Looks great, if this shot is any indicator.

I like the image Aldous, but I do not have a clue of what the lens is like. Albeit a very fine example here though. So what make is the lens and so on?

Gorgeous lens Aldous and the one I have fits and looks sweet on the OM-D camera. I never use it as much as I aught and best suited for the rangefinder for which I guess it was built for.
Handsome parrot yet I do find such beautiful birds as pets difficult to view, very much a cultural difference maybe.

Thanks Julian. I think the Jupiter is best fit with for Leica M since many people are using this len on their Leica M

Ivar, the reason I bought this len because many people using this old len with their Leica M on the webs and the price is really attractive. I bought it from a local shop over here for less than usd 90

Yes and I got it of a Fed 4 which was a kind of Leica compy-ish camera. A sweet lens though.
There is a new len released for a very short period called Jupiter +3, it's also a 50mm len but comes with F1.5. I believe the F1.5 should be a great len too, however the shop over all is selling way over price I think, so I just simply got the F2 version instead just for fun. I am going to test my Jupiter len for shooting film, I guess it won't let me down

I love the Jupiter-8, but quite a few of the other Jupiter lenses, or at least every other model I have ever owned weren't so great. I know they are crap shoot with quality, but it seems that the longer the lens the worse they seemed to do. I keep the Jupiter-8 on my Bessa R,with some Neopan.
