Almost like an oil painting was my first impression - the way the light grads from top to bottom, and the colors gel together - wonderful stuff

Brilliant. Worthy for a gallery!

Perfection indeed, Pete. :) No other words needed.

Thank you all. The monument is visually quite amazing and it is strange experience to be slowly submerged by the columns and to only come across others fleetingly. It is actually two other figures in the distance: the monument is pretty large.

I've had this open for a while now to keep coming back to it ... What makes this work is that it almost looks like it has motion blur on two axis ... The chap moving for one, but the material of the walls and even path creates a similar effect! Very effective shot this is I think! Really like it!

Pete...You cause me to pause and think with so much of your work. This one had me lost for an explanation of why I like it so much...so I'm just going to tell you...I like it very very much.

Awesome . i would hang that on my wall...GREAT capture...

Ha! I did the same too! this place just calls for this shot :)

Exactly! I waited and waited though and just as someone passed another walked straight in from of me. In the end I had to get my friend to walk across (which he did after running through, popping out of the wrong place etc, etc - Oh how I laughed! ;))

It's an interesting subject to try to photograph and capture the emotion of the place, I was lucky in that it was snowing and I was able to get droplets running down the stones, although a little too enthusiastic with the DoF button!
