Meg teaching Sadie to be patient regarding a cat that had wandered up our drive. Sadie loves to chase cats. Why? Because they run! Once, though, a cat stood its ground and Sadie did not know what to do. Anyway, it only took a moment or two of gentle talk and reassurance to get Sadie to tolerate this cat. She's a dog who wants to please!

Nice back story and a great image too. I like the interaction between Sadie and Meg. I used to have a Golden Retriever and a friend had a German Shepherd / Greyhound cross. They used to love chasing cats but as you said when the cat stood it's ground they had no idea what to do. Once a cat went for both of them at the same time and they just stood there completely taken aback while the cat bit and scratched them. They never learn't the lesson though and continued to do it.

My dogs have been ******* me off all day today ... I wish I could get through to them as well as it looks Meg can.
Mine (being sight hounds) chase everything and Murphy, who has had some negative run ins (some my fault) has become a bit of a problem dog ... we are getting there with him agian ... sometimes though ... ...

Its the look in Sadie's eyes--that and the gentleness in Meg's hands--that make this image for me, Hamish. Sadie's eyes show an element of anticipation and a bit of anxiety that say "there a blooody caaat over theeeere!"

No caffenol; I shot this and deved it a while back,...pre-caffenol days.
