I don't think so, Rob. It looks more like a catbird. Then again, it could be a chicken. They are the only birds I know of that live in buildings.

Very nicely done and not too much contrast and as I understand it, a cat peeping at a peeking duck.

Fine image Rense. I think your botany knowledge has not led you astray. I'm no botanist so I can confirm it is indeed an animal; a cat I believe.
