yeah, agreed the first one is really nice

i think its the range of tones of green, the compo and the little flecks of white in the upper left hand corner...

really nice shot that one mate, very impressed ... it somehow just fits my ideal for composition ... not sure why ... maybe it fits into the "golden ratio"??

I must admit I think out of all the shots I took that day the first shot here was my favourite, which for me is unusual because I normally go for closer shots.

Glen, actually I think that is why it works so well. The wider shot puts the Pheasant in context with its habitat.
