Photo Walk With My Daughter

Here are a couple from a small photo walk my daughter and I took today around our neighborhood. Both are straight out of the camera, no PP (mainly 'cause I'm still learning PP at this time and don't even know what PP software to go with yet, but a topic for another thread).

Great stuff and I too think the first is very good. I guess you use Nikon judging from the third photo? The Bundled Nikon software (View NX?) is quite usable as a basic alternative to Lightroom and probably a good place to start to work out what it is you want from PP software.

Very nice Aaron, I do like the first one too.

Good to see that the photog bug is contagious. Lol

Appreciate the comments all, thanks!

I really like that first shot too, except for the power lines in the background.

I'm using a Fuji E-X1 and my daughter acquired my old trusty Nikon D200, a move up from her even older Nikon D40.

She did ask if she can join the site, told her sure since it's such a welcoming community but I wasn't if there was an age limit (she'll turn 15 at the end of the month).

Also taken on the photo walk. I like this one a lot, but I don't like the leans glare, but what are you gonna do? haha But, just wondering, if there is anything I can do to make this photo better? Like take it a different angle or anything?

Feed back? ^_^ I like this one because of the sun that powers through the power lines and the clouds just kinda make everything come together I think.

I love this photo, but I din't get all of the power line so it kinda looks odd. But I love how dark the photo is <3

Asiana, these are really good, and the first of the electricity pilons is REALLY good. Shooting directly into the sun does create some problems, and many people add a filter to the lens - it's like a really thin lens, but darker - which will cut out the glare, and cool down the centre of the sun.

The first shot of the silhouetted branches against that amazing sky works really well too. Really well!

Two things are clear from these images: 1. You have a great eye for photography, and 2. I'm really happy you are contributing here. Other people will chime in with help soon - they all like to sleep in!

Aaron, I have no idea what the Fuji software is like, I never even opened the CD as I have Lightroom anyway. There is always GIMP which is free (similar to Photoshop) and I believe there is an alternative to Adobe Camera Raw that comes with GIMP or is easy to install once you have it.

Super stuff Asiana, really like the first of the pylon shots. Shooting into the sun is not easy.
