Allan's "Sna Belting Doon" post inspired me to post a sna related image. In their fists the girls grasp the sna they will toss skyward when they fly across the stage. This is off one of my final rolls of film from this year's Nutcracker performance.

Canon T50 and Kodak Tri-X 400 pushed to 1600. Developed the film in Rodinal 1:50.

Eerie to see this the morning after watching Black Swan!

Very nice photo. The glimpse of the far side and the silhouetting work very well.

Another cracker Brian, the anticipation, expectation and suspense, I like the detail of the lighting on the two dancers in the foreground just showing enough to give form and the far dancer waiting for her cue, Love it :)

Thank you, Tim. (Black Swan, eh? Some picture that one. Like so many parents involved in ballet through their kids, I naively thought that film was about ballet. So I took my then 17 year old daughter to see it. That was awkward I can tell you! Great picture though.) Thanks again, Tim.

One of my faves from the ballet set Brian - the B&W makes it for me, with the catchlight outlining the subjects - lovely

Thanks very much, Kev. The far dancer was a bit of a surprise to me when I developed the roll. When I snapped the fotie I was just concentrating on getting an image of the two in the foreground before they got their cue to accelerate. I was delighted to see the far one in the frame. Thanks again, Kev.

Thank you, Chris! I shot two rolls of Tri-X at 1600 but I was mostly disappointed with the results. This is one of the few frames I was happy with. Thanks again.

Wonderful Brian. Love the partial illumination on the two girls in the nearside wind and the way the lighting there contrasts with the full illuminated dancer in the opposite wing as well as the 3 lights and the lighting on the stage boards themselves. Super stuff.

Sna bad at all!

I like this..it reminds me of something else, but I can't quite remember where I've seen a similar photo or painting, (its me age, you know, me minds finally giving up...;) )....

Thanks Adrian. Perhaps you've seen some backstage images from a certain Mr. Brassai, whose backstage images of the Folies Bergere inspired me to try my hand at backstage shots.
