I saw this sign in Barnt Green which comes under the Birmingham District Council.

I could not stop looking at it and wondering how and why our society has become SO ridiculous!!
Does it really justify the cost of wages, fuel, printing, lamination, to send an employee out to staple a sign to remind people that are wondering through a wooded area...... that it has snowed, and snow might be slippy?! Really? REALLY?? ****ing REALLY!??!!!!!!!

Last year I remember Tesco sticking up signs around the car park...... 'Warning, falling snow' no honestly, thats really what it said.
(I think the reminder was initially to warn people of falling snow from the roof tops)
but COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ye cause you would get someone sueing them for not doing anything or putting up warnings lol

Councils should have more fecking sense, if I was the employee sent out to do such a REEDICOLAS NICOLAS job I would be seeking compensation for falling over on the slippy stuff FFS.Madness utter madness...IMHO, :D

Exactly!!!
and that comes to show the lack of trust in our own common sense as the most developed and intellectual species on this planet! they must think we're imbeciles!!!
If I slipped and fell over, I'd address my own stupidy for not realising that snow and ice was slippy. not point the finger for someone not telling me an obvious fact. lol
It's amazingly stupid ! :D:D:D:D

Mind you take Two DD TAKE FECKING TWO, just realised this is Brummijum we be talking about, now why isn't it written in Urdu Hindi, and every other multicultural language we are blessed with nowadays, or is it that only English speakers are stoopid, I take fecking exception to the insult in fact I may even contact the BCC and complain.....but then again I can't be Arsed :D:D:D

we should start a 'stoopid signs' thread...there must be plenty more of these we can get pictures of...from signs about the b****ing obvious to use by dates on a bag of coal....

(I heard that one on the radio today...it takes millions of years to produce then you have a few months to actually use it. And how are you going to get rid of it if you miss the date?...throw it on the fire or something...?!!)

WARNING - completely obvious signs in the area :D

In the signs defense.. The first time I ever saw snow was last year in Japan.. I was expecting it all to be fluffy and soft, Lke in pictres! I soon realised I was very much WRONG when landing on my buttox 5 times in the course of two days :D
Maybe the sign is for stupid tourists who have never experianced snow before.. Pitures are dieciving! :D :D
But this sign did make me giggle.. haha

Unfortunately we live in a world where everyone is worried about being sued for some reason or another. Did you know that in UK that if you leave your pathway to your house covered in snow and ice and someone slips on it and breaks their back they can't do a thing. However, if you clear your pathway and they slip over you are potentially liable! Is it only me that can see how this sort of stuff just erodes peoples sense of civic responsibility? If you see something wrong would you really want to do something about it knowing that you are potentially putting your self at risk to some form of legal action.

There was a case a while back where someone broke into a school. They climbed up on the roof to get entry through an area where some roofing work was being done. He fell through the hole and injured himself and then took legal action and won! Although the school had signs up indication the danger he broke in at night and the signs were not illuminated!

Is it any wonder why we find ridiculous signs made by people who are just trying to protect themselves.

Just back from from walk with the Dawgs, down by the river, please note 'down by the RIVER' there is a sign adjacent to the fields known as Pershore Community Wetlands, it's a nature reserve etc., anyway being next to the RIVER one could possibly expect to see a sign saying 'DANGER DEEP WATER!' right, not here in Pershore, infact there are no signs warning of the dangers of being near to the river, even though the banks slide right down to the murky waters edge, instead there is sign wired to a fence, some way from the nearest stile I might add saying...
