Hi All,

This Nikon business is a new thing to me and I know pretty much nothing about the models of Nikon flashes/accesories and their capabilties.

I know that there is the Speedlite series............ but which one? ,'/

Any recommendations for a D7000 anyone? Prices range about £200ish?

A used SB800 would be my choice.

Great flash - I have two and prefer them over my SB900 for general use - they just seem to nail the exposure better. Also has SU-4 mode not found on other models. Basically an optical trigger built in - so you can use it of camera with any other device that will flash. I use it a lot on full power to just blast backgrounds out or bounce of a ceiling to up the lighting on a whole room whilst popping my main subject with another Sb800 or the 900 on camera.

The optical trigger is great for using it off camera on the X100 too. Just dial down the built in flash and use the SB-800 in my left hand as main light.

I just received Sb700 speelite from amazon.......it arrived it was all in German.......all box & instructions & everything.......they can have it back cheeky gets.......!!

cant help you much, i did some reading and that was pretty well rated so that my only reason for buying, think it was £230 ish

when refund comes through will re order another from wex or similar

Also worth a look at is the Nissin DI622mkII flash at around £130.00 ish and fully compatible with Nikon or for £200 is is the Nissin DI866mkII which has high speed flash mode so a great gun for the money.
We have found them reliable to.
SB-900 Nikons have suffered with heat problems hence the 910 so quickly after it.
