Ripples

As the ferries work they way across the calm surface of Lake Maggiore, they create wonderful patterns in the water as the wash bounces off the stone lakeside at Arona.

Pete, this is damned good, I'm sure many of us would have missed this for looking for 'other' beautiful shots. gives me a feeling of tranquility.....holiday brochure stuff..

Love this Pete, more times than I remember rowing out as a child, sun not yet up and the sea being as it is there, a silence interrupted by the clink clunk of the rowlocks and small splash as the
oars pierce the water surface. Love the way noise travels over water in these conditions. Along with the colours in water as it is, have no boundaries. Superb image.

Pete always shows us why photography is so interesting. There are many ways to look at and capture a scene and Pete often shows us a different way of looking at something.

Thank you all. Typically there was no mist this morning. Yesterday it was superb (but I only spotted it as I left for my meeting and so didn't have a camera) but today there was none except on the mountains. I'll just have to go back (I'm now in the lounge at the airport.). :)

nice tones, hope you had your waders on for this shot!

As Glenn mentioned, the texture of the water is wonderful - so fluid, yet holding form
