Roasting Chiles

On a cold and crisp Fall morning in Santa Fe New Mexico, I spotted these two guys, busy roasting up a batch of local chilies for the farmers market.

I stopped to check it out, as it's not something a Brit gets to see every day - and I asked them if I could take their photo.

Dave - he was just as scary in real life - he never actually said yes when I asked to take the photo - he just stared!
