Roots and Cross

Highgate cemetery in London - one of my favourite haunts (pun only partially intended). It's absolutely enormous and you could be forgiven if you forget you are not far from the Archway and a section of the A1. This was taken a few years ago, but to date I haven't had a single successful photograph from this place, much as I love it. This seemed to have potential, but I think I tried too hard to make it something it wasn't. Last night I just let it be and the colour version isn't that different from the RAW file.

I like this toned and framed conversion best, although at 3200 ISO, the quality was starting to suffer...

Lesley, love the way the bushes frame the cross - and the vine/roots bringing the living tree to the dead with the cross - very compelling
