Critique Welcomed Rose Light Rose Dark

Two roses, the first untreated except for a border, the second made to look more painterly - I can imagine it in oils. Yes, it's the same flower, different angles. It's not an either/or question, as I like them both for different reasons.

I do like the deeper orange color in the center in #2, beautiful graduation to the white petal

All that dark area on the right? Well, I quite like it. I don't like flower crops being tight. I like to see space around the flower head, and I think the black is so beautiful...

One man's crop is another man's crap, I suppose

Both fine shots of the rose but the second is the star I think. I also like the dark space to the right. I might be tempted to lose a tiny bit though but only to the move the subject off-centre. I like it very much.
