Canon F1 and Canon FL 50/1.4 with Ilford Delta 100 film. Processed in Rodinal.

Everything was an estimate. We were on the veranda and I used the fence as my tripod, so this limited the camera positioning. I was unable to sight through the viewfinder, so I guessed at the composition and distance, as well as the exposure values. I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

And so you should be - it's superb. Vemeer meets early Steichen! Love the partial profile of the face and the light falling on the cigar and the smoke. These balance perfectly with the more brightly illuminated brushes etc in the window.

I assume SK is your brother then. Whereabouts in Prague is this? It looks a relatively new apartment from the rendering.

And I assume the beer bottle is yours! ;) Gambrinius?
Thanks Pete.

Yes, that's my little brother, Stewart Kenneth Moore. He lives in Roztoky, which is just north of Prague, on the other side of the Vltava. It's a fairly new house in a fairly new development. Taxi drivers can't find it.

Yes, the beer was mine but it wasn't Gambrinus. Can't remember what it was actually. (But I do remember the cigars were Cohibas.)

Pete has expressed it better than I could manage. Timeless and great Brian. He has a very satisfied look on his face.
Thanks Tom. I told him to hold still lest the long exposure blur his countenance. What you see is the pose he adopted. It was a lovely evening, so "satisfied" is a good description. Thanks again, Tom.
