Built in the late 1700's and made famous by Georgia O'Keeffe with her painting of the church's massive adobe walls simply looming up into the sky, the San Francisco de Asis Church is an impressive landmark in NM.

I love the treatment in the first image, Chris. The off-shade flagstone pathway leading to the doors is massive in perspective and compliments the church's curved buttresses very delightfully indeed. For me this a really excellent shot of this iconic structure.

Thanks Brian - I put a negative exposure grad into the bottom of the image during PP, to really bring out those flagstones.

It's an odd building to shoot, as there's almost nothing that's true/level/plumb about it!

I've seen it shot from the other side, with bold shadows bold covering parts while other parts stood bright in sunshine. Its a fabulous building. Still,...that shot of your's is so darn good!

I was about to get on your case about shooting straight, Chris, until I realized that it was the building that's wonky. I love the flagstone treatment, too. Great texture and light on these. I especially like the first one, too.

Ha ha! my wife immediately disappeared around the back of the church and began shooting away, so I expect she's captured that view - now I know what she was up to! ;)
