Seagull and St Marys

This was taken on my whistle stop tour of Yorkshire last October. I had two full days in the Dales and then a couple of hours in Whitby before spending the night with a friend near Redcar. I've never been to Whitby before and I liked it. I was too worn out by this time to climb all those steps to the ruins, but this is my take on the old church

Attack of the giant seagulls!

Probably well fed with that fishing fleet - lovely details in the feathers - the patterning around the head is wonderful

I agree, not only a superb study of the 'urban' gull but an original and very effective view f the town too. Wonderful shot.

You should met up with Kev and his giant swan Swanzilla. Hopefully you can keep them from fighting and destroying half of the city in the process.
