This is at the point where Shore Street passes the hamlet of Milton. (Where once stood a mill.)

Canon F1 and Kodak Tri-X film.

I like the slight desolation in this Brian and its sense of not much happening. Where true or false, it provides a very atmospheric view of the place; sleepy and left behind by the world at large.

Thanks, Pete. It certainly is a bit desolate up there. Sometimes you look at an image and you like it but you're not sure why. This was one of those. I think what draws me in is how the top of the road ends at the low point of the V formed
by the sloping roof on one side and the hillside on the other.

When i was a kid i was scared of these kinds of places. Not sure why, even in daylight they seem to carry underlying unease.

It's a sense of enclosure or entrapment i think - then there's the two figures watching from the distance...

In a Photography magazine I subscribe to there has been a lot of these kind of images recently but very few of them seemed to have any value in my eyes at least. They just seemed to be obscure for the point of being obscure. I like this one Brian as it actually does work. at 7:50 in the morning I cant be bothered to explain better why I do however.:D

I saw Chris's response before responding to you Ahmad. Perhaps he's right that there's a feeling of enclosure in this image.

Interesting thought, Chris. Thanks for the comment.
