Sied (pron. Sy-Iid)

Got back from Tripoli last night and while I was there decided to over come my usual shyness and start photographing people. Managed to get a few photographs but was really busy for all of the 2 weeks I was there, even at weekends so didn't get much time in the end. So much for the plan. This is Sied, an all round round good guy and still pretty sharp and fairly active for an oldie. I took this while we were having a sit down and a drink on the balcony, chatting about business ideas. I might crop it just to show the top portion of the image. I think it looks a little better cropped but the whole image says a little more about him. Haven't fully decided yet

I like the entire image, Paul. I think if you crop it you lose a lot of his character. There's something about the [hone in one hand and the coffee in the other that somehow bridges a social, cultural or chronological gap. Or maybe all three gaps. The picture looks HDR.

I do like the full frame in #1 - you get to see the context with the mug, and the skin detail on his hand which helps to tell the story

Lovely use of fill flash Paul
