not sure if you noticed, but your horizon is tilted. 
nice stormy mood. i'm a sucker for storm clouds. the statues don't seem the least bit interested in what you're doing, they've all got their backs turned.

Great skies. I quite like the jaunty angle.
I also got thinking 'what would it look like if the horizon was set straight and the frame set at the angle, then set within another square-on frame , or even (if it was a physical print) displayed with the frame left at that angle... mm, maybe not, probably a little too oddball

The soft colors of the statuary and the buildings works really well with the gloomy gray of the sky.

Lovely shot! The colors, the mood and the angle. The angle somehow makes this geometrically more pleasing, more dynamic. I got the impression an entire city was riding huge wave. Still, I tilted my head all the time while looking at it. I´ll see my orthopedist about it first thing in the morning...

Thank you @Stefan Wilde. I think my eye was caught by the parabolic shape of the channel, everything else had to take a back seat, it was the parabola that had to take centre stage.
