SKELTON TOWER, NORTH YORK MOORS

This is a shot of Skelton Tower near to Levisham on the North York Moors very close to the steam railway. It was taken during the autumn of 2010 using Agfa APX100 with a deep red filter and was developed using Paterson FX39. Camera choice was Nikon F3 with MD-4 fitted with a Tamron 17mm lens just for effect.

Loving the look with the deep red filter - the clouds really make it for me as well

love the dark sky, nice use of the filter. the tower looks like a cool place to explore, did you get to go inside the ruins?

Yes Beth, you can walk freely about the place and on a nice summers day it is a very popular spot as there is a steep valley just behind the tower which overlooks the North York Moors Railway. This is a heritage railway that runs steam trains on what has to be the most breath taking run in Britain apart from possibly the one in Scotland.
