Sky Lines

Thanks, Pete. I’ve been wondering what to do with all the trees, often too much stuff for a photo. But these sky-branch shots are interesting me more and more, and are becoming a project. Glad you think along similar lines, Pete.

They are great Rob.
I have done quite a few like this myself, in the past. Your spring is a couple of weeks behind ours, by the look of it. My favourite time is yet to come to you, where there are developing leaves on the twigs and they are still small enough to reveal a lot of the sky. Where you have different species in the canopy, the leaf sizes and densities differ, which adds another layer of complexity which can look wonderful.

Cheers, Chris. What you describe is already evident on the right side of the image. Soon it will be hard to see much sky at all. It is indeed a wonderful time in nature. Many nests have new life in them, yet there are dark forces at play too, as gulls and crows seek out a delicious meal. Evolution at work.
