SNAKEROPE

A bit of lead line being salvaged. Old or badly damaged nets are cut from their head rope, that is the rope that hold the net and floats, and the foot rope , which is a lead line, a rope with an interior made of lead to keep the net on the seabed. New net , or a panel can be re attached to old head and foot rope. Some boats employ a full time net maker who makes up new nets or salvages old ones.

I like this a lot Julian. There are so many fascinating elements to it, from the diagonal patter cast into the concrete to the pattern of the lead line (?) snaking from one side of the frame to the other. The other piece of top and the netting on the right seem to balance agains that pattern in the concrete and to top it off there are those two light marks, just in the right places. Yes, I like this a lot (and I've learned something about nets and ropes!). :)

Thank you Pete for the endorsement. Very interesting what you have to say , it would be interesting to see the comments of the fishermen , who's net it is.
