Beautiful tones and comps, Hamish. The reflection of the church is astonishing. Good stuff!
Thanks Rob, it was that spire that's I wanted to lead the eye to, I had to crop the photo a bit to make it work ...
I'd be pleased with them too Hamish.
And they're all with the Klasse? Amazing!
Cheers Dan
You guessed good, H! Still flooded down your way I see. Anyway, love the night shots. Is that camera fully manual? Do you recall your exposure settings?
All with the klasse, it's not fully manual, it has an aperture control, and you can set the shutter manually from 1-60secs and bulb. These were all 60sec f8, apart from the "osprey" shot which was 15sec f8. The first was the osprey which was just outside the metering capability of the iPhone. The last shot was well outside the range of the iPhone, so I just went with the longest exposure time at the aperture I wanted to shoot at ... A guess is probably doing my self to much credit, it was more just hit and hope
the last, which is arguably over exposed (I tweaked it ever so slightly on the computer) I wasn't even thinking, just shooting
The klasse also has a rudimentary MF override allowing me to set it to 5m, hence the choice of f8 - 2m - infinity in focus ...
The way the twigs wrap around the light in the first shot is magic!
Lovely exposures Hamish
Have you ever heard of the Jiffy Calculator for estimating tricky exposures?
It's a kind of exposure slide rule for estimating challenging scene exposures.

You can buy old ones ready made on EBAY - or print your own and do a bit of
Blue Peter glue and sticky tape to make it work.
Cheers Chris, that looks pretty good! I'm gonna have another go with the m7 soon I think ... Really just for a comparison of experience as much as anything else. The Fuji klasse meter bottoms out at 4ev, which is pretty poor really. The m7 meters all the way down to -2ev, which is clearly a technical advantage, but obviously it still lacks any "matrix" style metering mode, only having a large centre spot/weighted meter. I guess taking a few readings pointing the camera at various areas of the frame and making an informed guess from that would be he best route, but it would definitely be interesting to have a Jiffy Calculator to refer to at the same time!
On this occasion, what really caused me to just throw caution to the wind in the end was the fact that I knew I needed to take reciprocity failure into account, but didn't even have an accurate reading to start from ... Brain boggled I was
