taken a little while back but I find myself often going back and looking at these few shots which often makes me crave a bloody marry or a dirty martini, interested in hearing your opinions and critiques, negative or positive I appreciate any honest opinion :)

Thank you for looking

Ooh, very nice stuff.
The last shot is my fav. :)

If I was to say anything it would be about the visible horizon in the third being a minor distraction ...
And maybe that they are slightly tight to the subject
But iminor points and possibly only personal ones

They are well done photos! Especially the fisrt I think, the wood grain of the table seems appropriate somehow
And the lighting is very nice...
I'd definitely say the fisrt appeals to me the most!

thanks guys :)

Hamish Gill you pointed out the only thing I didn't like about that photo but unfortunately I was unable to avoid that, the client at the time wanted a uniform look throughout so I couldn't change the background for this one shot and I was stuck with the color of the subject blending in with the background. As far as everything else in composition, it was all done to the client's liking. Typically I shoot a few different variations of the same setting when it comes to product photography then I present them to the client detailing pros & cons of each perspective then leave it to them to choose (most clients looking for product photography can be painfully particular about what they want the photos to look like)

Now that I think about it, if I had positioned the camera lower I could have filled more of the background with black and less wood table.

Lighting was 2 battery operated portable lights inside 2 soft umbrellas placed to the left & right of the object to achieve the dark background. Believe it or not this was done on location in a restaurant on one of their dining tables with a window behind me and the bar (not visible) behind the drinks.
