I did the later part of a recent wedding job ( a mate of mine, you may remember the stag shots) with my Ricoh GR1 ... These are some of the results.
It has seriously tempted me to start shooting weddings on compact film cameras

You do capture moments well Hamish. Do you think people treat you different with a smaller footprint camera? Or, are you just that good at grabbing the shot?

I always take a compact with me to a wedding... It tends to come out when everyone has had a drink or two many. Lol

Imagine that, if a client agreed for the photog to take their wedding day on a compact camera only!! Wow, now that would be fun..

I know an american shooter did an entire wedding with an iPhone 4 and actually did a pretty good job. The clients were made aware that he planned to do it and actually signed off on the idea

Definitely differently! Everyone has a little camera, I just fit in with the crowd! People react much better!

I see absolutely no reason not to... The quality is good enough and I enjoy it a lot more... And I prefer the results!

how about adding a remotely triggered flash on a stand? - just to fill out the room a little - the on-camera flash is great for the subject, but leaves the rest a little f/dark

Love the reportage thing of course - will have a wedding next year where I'll be doing more of the same I expect
