Hi Guys

Hamish you are spot on. i had a look on ebay after posting this thread and saw a few going for around the £400. mark. I did not think they were so cheap for a FF DSLR.

i think i need to save a little bit more..

Well i spoke nicely to my wife and she kindly added to my kitty and i bought a 5D off Ebay this afternoon.

Problem solved except i need to make more room in the peli case now..:)

It was £410 with a grip and 4 spare batteries and all the other bits and bobs.

Julian as yourself i didnt realise 5D was around the £400. That is attractive isnt it.

Prior to this i was going to recommend 1D which i had briefly.
Im not sure if canon have any other pro digital camera that flash syncs at 1/500.
Shutter was i think rated to 250K yet some people were firing way past 350K.
The files were only 4.5Mp but what lush MPs they were and my aging computer could cope with those small files :)
It was the only digital camera i had that made me feel obsolete .... as it took super photos of its own accord with minimal input from me.
I read online some pro photographers say they can tell a 1D photograph due to its colour and image quality.
AFIAK 1D had the weakest AA filter of all Canon digital cameras which gave its images a certain clarity.

Having said all this i would love a 5DMK1 :o
