...so a couple of flower photos from my back catalogue..(I haven't got around to taking any flower pictures so far this year, but I'm considering haunting the university botanical gardens before much longer...)

Did someone mention blossom?

This was taken a few years ago with my first digital camera a Fuji FinePIx S602.

A fake HDR effect done in photoshop from a tutorial I found on the web. It suits this particular subject really well, IMHO....

Nice. Be a while for us before spring takes hold. It's snowing nicely today.

A few years ago Adrian? Did you buy it new?
The f602 was announced 10 years ago ... Can you believe that??
Great camera in its day ... Still a pretty good today, as ten year old 3mp cameras go anyway ;)

The "fake HDR" certainly makes it pop eh, not sure I'm entirely convinced?? I think it may be more effective on a individual flower so as there is less to cause the eye to dart arround the image ... If that makes sense?

I can believe it...I just don't want to admit it....:)
The photo was taken in 2003....

As for the hdr effect, I like the way it crisped up this image of fairly delicate and pastel petals, without going to far over the top.
I'll have to remember to ty it out on a single bloom at some point...

I think it would work quite well! It's always my issue with HDR, the images become distracting with thier detail ... If there is less to look at, ie an isolated subject it might work quite nicely!

The funny thing is these old Fuji's still hold some value! I sold a s7000 the other day or £50!!
You can but new bang up to date ones for £100 or even less off Fuji referb ... Craziness!
The really nutty ones are the f30 family ... They go for nuts money still! Good cameras mind!
