the first one works very for me compositionally ... this is a good example of how the 16 x 9 format can and does work in photography!

All three photos have a lot of positives.

#1- Are the boats in dry dock or is the tide out? The photo might be enhanced with reflections on the water if there were some. But those reflections might also be distracting. Hard to know sometimes.

#2 - I really like this one. I immediately began to wonder what the flower pot heads were talking about. I might have cropped a little tighter to really focus on those guys and their conversation. Definitely my fav!

#3 very interesting comp here too. I might have cropped a little tighter.

And just cause I might do a certain thing doesn't mean the photo would be better, just different or maybe even worse. Thanks for sharing.

Hi guys thanks for the comments, i have yet to find out and learn which program to use to do the croping and other adjustments, at present all my pics as taken.
Please advise of a simple program for a beginner.

Nathan,
Don't recall which camera system you are using. If Canon, start with the software that came with the camera. Many also like PhotoShop Elements for good basic photo editing. For right out of the camera your shots are good.
