Looks like it's going to be a busy year for the street repairers in Berlin!

The problem is more widespread than I thought. I spotted these nearly fully grown ones in Gross Himstedt today. As you can see, they've done quite some damage and what was more worrying, I found some signs of newly hatched eggs on the walls leading to the basement! :eek:

I share your worry about the population of stoneworms. Rumour has it, a certain type of seabird likes to feed on them, we do not need a population explosion amongst those.......:)
