Snapped while cycling along the bike path at Bolsa Chica State Beach, in Huntington Beach, California. (These chaps were on my left as I cycled in a southerly direction. The shadow of my helmeted head, lower right.)
Superheadz toy camera with Kodak Tri-X 400 that I processed in Rodinal.
I used to to ride a skate board often when I was a kid. Hadn't done in it 45 years until about 6 months ago when I discovered an abandoned skate board while walking Sadie. So I thought, let me have a wee shot on this skate board. Nearly killed myself! From that point on I resolved that self-powered commuting would be limited to bikes or Shank's Mare.
That made me smile Brian, what goes on in our heads as we get older becomes something completely fanciful and does not correspond to our actual capabilities, as you say , dangerous to act upon these idea and very humbling as well.
Thanks, Pete. You're absolutely right. Most surfers that I see around Southern California are of a rather slimmer variety. The seated smoker in this image looks more like your average corpulant hunter who should be hiding in a blind ready to ambush an animal.
