Surfrider Apartments

Normally I'm a big fan of flora and fauna but not when I'm trying to get a fotie of this apartment building which I find attractive. I wish I could get a picture of it without the foliage.

Except for the palm trees, that is. I love the palm trees.

At least it hasn't got a white van outside it. Those damn things are everywhere, ruining many a photo op. These buildings look very interesting, and the palm trees are wonderful.

I think your horizon is squint ;)

Nice shot!
A once in a while change to see you using digi. :)

Thanks Rob and Dan. (Dan,...I'm trying to learn how to use the 7D.)

And yes, to those of you with a keen eye;), the horizon most certainly is tilted a bit. But not as much as this image seems to show. I was surprised when I saw this one; the street is on slight grade, but the wide angle lens seems to have accentuated it quite markedly.

Why would you want it without the foliage when it provides such a super contrast to the colours of the building? Super shot Brian.

I might be tempted to correct the verticals though.

Edit, Transform, Distort in PS.

Much better, Pete. Thanks. I'll have a go at that in PS.

As to the foliage, that tree in the middle as well as various bushes prevent us from seeing the interesting entryway with its three curving rooftops. Also partially obscured is the graceful curvature of the apartments in the center. I tried to find some information on the design or builder of this building but found nothing on-line, and this quite surprised me, since to me at least it seems this place was designed as much for its aesthetic as for function. (I read on a realtor's site that every apartment in the building has a view of the sea.)

Next time I'm down there I want to get a fotie from the other side, which faces the sea.

Thanks again, Pete.
