I prefer not to share political content anymore. Yet, the recent developments in Turkey are very concerning. It has good potentials as the oppressed public's approach is creative, has a lot of sense of humor, and relatively peaceful.

Atatürk once said, "Peace at Home, Peace in the World." This statement cannot be taken lightly given the region's historic instability. These events in Turkey have worldwide effects in the long run.

Let us hope that the leaders who have stayed in power for more than 10 years stay sane and do not fall in to the corrupt trap of the power that was given to them.

We see lots of these images and film on British television, every night, but very little analysis. Seems the protestors are resisting moves away from a secular, or at least non-religious state, towards a Muslim state. If that's the case, they have my support.

Despite getting "very little analysis" of the reasons for the protests, Rob's understanding of the underlying issues is far far deeper than what I have heard from the US media. Granted, I haven't been actually looking for in-depth reporting, but my casual ear-to-the-radio approach informs me its all about a shopping mall,...! Apparently the president wants it and the people don't. Go people!

However, I'm quite sure its more than a shopping mall matter.
