The Race Across America, or RAAM, is an ultra marathon bicycle race across the United States that started in 1982 as the Great American Bike Race.

They cover approximately 3,000 miles (4,800 km) in about a week!!!!

Super shot, Chris. The red bar across the bottom really makes it, for me. Those guys are super fit. Reminds me of when I was 20 years old, waking up with a mega hangover in the streets of Paris, with the Tour de France riders wizzing past me at great speed. Ah, the good old days...

Thanks Rob - could't resist it when I saw the red bar matching their outfits

The solo women and solo men riders already started earlier this week - the teams start today, going West to East across the US.

They have over 170,000' of climbing to do on the trip - now that's fit!

:D:D:D Thought you were going to say it reminded you of you're cycling days or something like that Rob. Nicely put!

Chris: Nice one! I've ridden a few "century" rides but the notion of doing 3000 miles in a week boggles the mind.

Thanks Brian - They are insane - seriously - the leaders only elect to sleep 1.5 hrs a day!

Thanks Pete
