Tetney Lock ruins...

On the edge of Tetney Marsh close to the Humber Estuary is an old wartime observation post laid out in heavily weathered concrete awaiting an invasion that never came. Large expanses of flat land as far as the eye can see, perfect for an invasion by airborne units. Thankfully it never happened and few know why but for us, the babies born within sight and sound of this conflict, we, I, am so grateful. To my father I give a salute, to thousands like him, I give a salute.

Sobering thoughts Shaun. I think we're all in debt to those who kept the world safe from fascism. I worry that the current fascist president of the USA and his Russian counterpart are intent on taking the world to the brink once again.

Gary I fear that you are correct with your worries. I think that we are well advanced in that direction.
