That village in Edinburgh again - colour

We all agreed it looked great in b&w, but here's a colour version using the in-camera Standard colour setting. Quattro DP2. SPP. I still prefer it in b&w, but thought you might be interested in the amazing colours, acclaimed to be the original colours, and preserved by order. The sky was blue for a while today, but not quite that blue. I could have toned them down, but wanted to give the impression of the Standard colourscape. I think I'll use the Natural mode next time.

You've barely started to post images from this camera and I already totally understand why you are so impressed with it.

These Sigma cameras, the Merrills and the Quattros, are renegade artists, following their own rules and confounding traditionalists. They are not perfect cameras by any means, but are capable of near medium-format images at a fraction of the price. For someone who is used to film work, they are fast enough, but sports and wildlife photographers should look elsewhere.

Truth being no camera is without its pitfalls and compromises.
Looking good Rob and enjoying the colours.

Oh boy, colours from this Scotsman, I almost fell backwards in delight and in awe of the Merlin. I thought you had blessed another fellow deported Scotsman with your Merlin?

I'll speak slowly, as it is well known that Norwegians appreciate that ;) This is not a Merlin. This is the Quattro. :).

Brian does not have a Merrill or a Merlin. He has the DP1 MacKillop.

Ah so, you have purchased a Quattro, I thought that that was a car produced by Audi and that you have aqquired a car Rob. Now I have not heard you speak, but seen you write. So whether you speak slowly or not, or whether I would understand your presumably Scottish accent, still remains to be "heard." When speaking/writing about Brian, you are quite right. He has only a McKillop and Helga of course!:D
