a camera from yesteryear. snort and snicker if you will but

name me another camera that syncs flash at 1/16000th

it's cheap enough not to have to worry about, ie for remote placement hanging from precarious places etc. the AF motor is pretty much unbeatable for torque. fairly nice ergonomics although the screen is tiny and horrible, WB is on a menu button down the bottom, batteries are rubbish, ISO above 800 is not only vomit-inducing, but fortunately hidden on a menu somewhere AND only in full stop increments.

that last line seals it for me, I'm a great believer in using what you are comfortable with, whatever that happens to be and not succumbing to peer pressure :)
