the aurora

i went to iceland for a few weeks in late september. it was cloudy most of the time. towards the end of the trip the sky cleared. the first night i saw the aurora it was just a thin white cloud in the sky. after a 40 second exposure i had some greens and purples and movement in the stars. the night before i left there was a strong aurora forecast. i grabbed the second shot at kleifarvatn, south of reykjavik. that one was a 5 second exposure.

A beautiful country, had a 3 day mini break there myself a few years ago.

That is a fantastic pair of images. The lighting of the classic car against the sky works very well, the second is just beautiful.
Well done!

2 very stunning images. I have only ever seen the Northern lights once here in Rhode Island., about 20 yrs ago. I did not have a camera with me. Lost opportunity, sad to say.

What camera are you using for these photos? They are both fantastic. The one with the car is amazing!! I am particularly interested in how you processed the image. It's incredibly sharp. Fascinating and extremely effective.
